2005-2006 marks the premier season at Arizona Broadway Theatre. This season features a thrilling lineup of award-winning musicals. Exceptional theatre along with elegant dining. The West Valley Arts Council (WVAC) exists to build audiences for all of the arts, to drive arts policy forward, and to champion arts education throughout the West Valley. WVAC presents more than 80 events including a myriad of performances, exhibitions, festivals, lectures, and a thriving arts education program. More than 50,000 people attend WVAC events each year. Events take place throughout the Valley, including the Sun Cities, Surprise, and Peoria. |
Rio Salado College hosts the Rio Institute for Senior Education (RISE) which is a non-profit volunteer educational organization for seniors. RISE provides its members an opportunity to grow, to learn, to share ideas and more in its more than 40 classes covering such subjects as cooking, health, history, science, literature, language, investing, and many others. Theatre Works is innovative and brings critically acclaimed award winning productions to Sun City. The variety of programming includes: dramas, musicals, revues, and comedies. Chamber Music West Presents a six concert series November-April with a balance of internationally established and emerging performers. The Sun City Concert Band (125 playing musicians), Sun City Pop's Band (100 playing musicians), Sun City Chamber Orchestra (75 playing musicians), All Star Big Band (22 member stage band), Rhythm Ramblers (15 member big dance band), Sun City Players Community Theatre, the Desert Aires Barber Shop Chorus, the Sun Cities Symphonic Chorus and many other organizations are also ready to entertain, and some are even looking for talented new residents to join their groups.
